Natale Mannino

Natale "Tolly" Mannino, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:20 A.M., Saturday, March 13, 2004 at his residence.
Tolly had served as janitor at Sacred Heart Church for many years serving under Fr. Haffner. He had been owner and operator of Tolly's Barber Shop in Du Quoin for forty years.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and the American Legion.
He was a US Army Veteran of W.W. II serving with the combat engineers "Fighting Mojacks" he was on the second wave of the D-Day invasion at Normandy.
He was born July 28, 1922 at Du Quoin, IL the son of Salvator "Sam" and Francesca (Mangiapane) Mannino.
He married Raymonde Cund on November 11, 1945 at Nancy, France. She died August 27, 1990.
He is survived by two sons- Sam J. Mannino and wife Debbie of Du Quoin, John P. Mannino and wife Sharon of Centralia, daughter- Natalie Cook and husband Mark of Mt. Vernon, brother- Vincent Mannino of Swansea, IL, two sisters- Ida Groh of Granite City, IL and Margaret Brock and husband Gene of Fairfield Bay, Ark., grandchildren- Kyle and Wade Mannino, Kasey Harris, Brent Yancey and Melissa Cobin, great grandchildren- Lathan, Shelby and Austin Harris, special friend- Mary Kay Ellis of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother- Vito, two sisters- Tina and Frances.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted.
Friends may make memorials to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
